Cline, Roo Code & Kilo Code
Set up the VS Code coding extensions.
Cline, Roo Code and Kilo Code are VS Code extensions with the same kind of settings screen. The setup is identical for all three.
Setup
- Open the extension's panel and click the settings (gear) icon.
- Set API Provider to OpenAI Compatible.
- Fill in the fields:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Base URL | https://api.aivokey.dev/v1 |
| API Key | sk-aivo_... |
| Model ID | deepseek-v4-pro (or any id from Models) |
Save, then send a short message to test it.
Recommended model settings
Some versions show extra fields under the model. If they do:
- Context window — use the model's context size from Models. Too small makes the extension trim your conversation early.
- Supports images — turn on only for models with the vision badge.
- Max output tokens — leave empty or use the model's limit.
Tips
- Pick a model with the tools badge — these extensions edit files and run commands through tool calls.
- Create a separate key for VS Code so you can revoke it on its own.
- Web search in these extensions uses their own tools, not AivoKey's.
Common problems
- 401 / "Invalid API key" — paste the key again; check for spaces at the end.
- 404 — the Base URL must end with
/v1. - "Model not found" — the Model ID must be an id from the Models page, typed exactly.
